Whether in your home, garden or traveling, here are tips for surviving mosquito season!

Just the other day I was talking to a friend about how mosquitos LOVE me!  No joke, if I am with a big group of people, guess who gets eaten alive?  Yep!  Not sure exactly what attracts mosquitos to one person more than another but I hope to find out after taking the Orkin’s “Buzzer Beater” blog app.  During my travels through Vietnam and Thailand many moons ago, I use to have to slather on tons of mosquito repellant but really to no avail.  It didn’t really matter what I put on, they’d find the areas I’d not reached and have a little feast.  Do you have the same issue or do you find they tend to leave you alone?  Do you have any tips you can share with us?  I found sleeping under mosquito nets worked best while traveling in countries/areas known for having lots of mosquitos.

According to Care2.com, citronella oils and catnip are also natural repellants.  Check out her site to read more about putting some natural lotions and oils on your skin if you are traveling to areas known for being heavily infested.

Do you happen to live in an area that is known for having mosquitos?  Download Orkin’s yearly “Mosquito Cities” list from the “Buzzer Beater” blog app and find out if your city made it!  I am curious to see if my city is on that list too!  Take the Buzzer Beater quiz and leave a comment about what is the most helpful or surprising fact you learned for a chance to win a Summer Scientist Bug Catching Kit.
