Traveling Back in Time in Havana, Cuba

As time goes by and cities and countries grow larger and greater, there is one country that remains frozen in time following the same traditions and ways of life we were accustomed to in the 1950s. This amazing city with its complicated history and incredibly energetic vibe is Havana – the capital of Cuba.

Last winter my family traveled to Cuba where we spent a week exploring Havana. The city is very exotic and old fashioned in a poodle-skirt and hot pink 50’s convertible sort of way. Havana has European architecture and a fun Caribbean feel which makes the city look more antique and rustic than just about any other European colonized country around the world.

Due to the current state of the country’s economy, it feels as if you’re stepping back in time because of the lack of Wi-Fi signals, modern clothing shops and restaurants, and many cars and buildings in the city are at least 50 years old.

On almost every corner is a jazz band which was one of my favorite parts about exploring the intriguing city. Here are a few of my favorite photos I took on my trip back in time.
