Participate in “Clear the Shelters” August 17th!
This past week was filled with lots of hugs and kisses given to my dog (and cats) after seeing The Art of Driving in the Rain – a must-see movie out this Friday the 9th starring Milo Ventimiglia and Amanda Seyfried. It is one of those sweet movies that reminds you how much love our pets give us! So when I heard about the upcoming Clear the Shelters nationwide pet adoption drive I wanted to share it with you all.
We tend of get most of our pets from either a local animal rescue group or animal shelter. You can read more about our beast of a dog, Max here and the good work the German Shepherd Rescue of Orange County do to help German Shepherds but also other dogs in need of a good home.
Our most recent addition to the family is our tuxedo cat, Bean, who we found at our local animal shelter. Let me just say she has more personality that any cat I have ever owned! She was so scrawny because she had been on the streets but she filled in and is such a love bug. She even grooms our 135 pound dog! I love that this event is going on to encourage folks across the country to try to help find forever homes for shelter animals.
NBC and Telemundo owned stations are teaming up with hundreds of shelters across the country to host Clear the Shelters, a nationwide pet adoption drive on Saturday, August 17 to help find loving homes for animals in need. More than 250,000 pets found their forever homes since 2015.
Pet adoption fees will be waived and reduced at more than 1,400 shelters on Aug. 17 thanks to Clear The Shelters. To find a shelter near you stop by the Clear the Shelters site here.
