Knott’s Berry Farm Offers Fun for the Whole Family!

If you grew up in Southern California, you have probably visited Knott’s Berry Farm!  As a kid, I loved going to the park and eating their yummy funnel cakes and getting soaked on the log ride.  After coming back to Southern California from living and working in Japan after college, seriously one of the first things I wanted to do was go to Knott’s and eat a funnel cake!  And who can forget my high school graduation party at Knott’s?  If you went to a southern California high school – you probably went to Knott’s the week of graduation and had a blast with your classmates.

Now, as a mom of a young girl who absolutely LOVES roller coasters, Knott’s is her kind of place.  The faster it goes, the happier she is.  You might have seen us on the loopy de loop (her name for the Boomerang roller coaster.  I am the mom who is holding on for dear life, keeping my eyes shut, but laughing along with my kid. We do have quite a bit of fun together and the kid inside of me always enjoys our trips to Knott’s Berry Farm. Last year,  I introduced her Mrs. Knott’s Chicken Dinner Restaurant delicious homemade pies and fried chicken.  After we ate our feast, we headed into Ghost Town and came across these two characters!

Knott’s Makes Learning About American History Fun:

One of my favorite things about Knott’s Berry Farm is the old-time feel of the park.  It is a great place to teach kids about native Americans, California history,  and the stores along the street are filled with Wild West paraphernalia. We picked up a dream catcher from the Mystery Lodge Store that offers merchandise inspired by the Pacific Northwest Coast and Native American culture.  And make sure to stop by the General Store that was built in 1944 and is the oldest and largest shop in Ghost Town, featuring souvenirs and gifts with Wild West flair plus their old fashioned candy counter offers nearly 100 varieties of sugary confections satisfies even the most untamed sweet tooth. We stopped in the old school house that was built in the late 1800’s and she got to see firsthand what a classroom looked like back in the day.

Celebrate the Holidays at Knott’s Berry Farm:

We had a chance to visit Camp Spooktacular over Halloween and had a blast!  Halloween is one of my favorite holidays and I love to celebrate it with my daughter.  They had a ton of activities for the kids to do and you can see my little pirate (far right) doing the zombie dance with some friends and Lucy.  They had a section for kids to make Halloween crafts and sugar cookies that we made into an adorable witches hat.  All of Camp Snoopy is decorated to celebrate Halloween and is age appropriate for the youngsters on up.  There was even a creepy crawly cave that had loads of creepy insects you could see and even touch if you so dared.  And Christmas time at Knott’s is really special.  Throughout the park you will see holiday decorations and a chance to kids to meet and greet non other than one of Santa’s helpers!

Knott’s really is one of the more affordable amusement parks in the area.  Especially when the kids are young, it is such a wonderful place to just hang out for the day and enjoy some family time.  But don’t get me wrong, if your older kids love fast rides – this is the place to go!  I actually have to give a limit to my seven year old on which rides good ‘ol mom can handle (double black diamonds, otherwise known as an Aggressive Thrill ride –  might be too much some days).  It is nice to have the option to head over to Camp Snoopy and go on rides like Lucy’s Tugboat, Rocky Road Trucking Company, or Woodstock’s Airmail.  This ride was a big hit with the kids and they kept coming back for more!

Knott’s really is a wonderful place to visit frequently throughout the year.  They are always offering family deals and I like that they offer a monthly payment option if needed which comes out to be about $14 a month per ticket for 6 months.  Not bad when you think about how much it costs to go out to eat or a movie.  This is affordable family fun – and deals are always a bonus in my book!   You can check out the Knotts Season Pass pricing here.

And make sure to stop by the Knott’s Berry Farm Facebook page as they are offering 4 Season Tickets in a funtastic  giveaway!

Used to go to Knott’s with my family as a kid growing up. I have been able to take my own kids once and we had a blast. My favorite ride is boomerang. Good luck to all those entering!!!!

My munchkins love Snoopy! We spent a lot of time at Camp Snoopy when we visited the park. They’ve been asking to go back. 🙂

I actually don’t have a favorite ride because I have never had the opportunity to go. I have lived in Southern CA for 20 years and haven’t yet experienced Knott’s. I really want to go and take my kids there.
