Tech :: Leap Into Gaming with LeapTV
The kids were very excited to play the LeapTV Sports game!
Leap Frog has been the go-to company for many parents because their educational toys and games are really well made and designed. My daughter learned how to read with their LeapReader and we have used their games on several occasions. Recently, LeapFrog has leaped into gaming with their new LeapTV that teaches core skills across a variety of subjects including: reading, mathematics, science and problem solving. Designed for kids ages 3-8, the system uses a motion-sensing camera and controller that fits small hands. Audio instruction makes it simple for even the youngest kids to play solo or with a friend!
Yesterday we hosted a LeapTV “Leap Into Gaming” Mommy Party that was sponsored by LeapFrog. We invited ten children to the party whose ages ranged from 2 to 8 years of age. I loved how they all got involved and were good about taking turns at the remote.
Here is our littlest party goer who was quite engaged in the LeapFrog Sports video being played!
The LeapFrog TV video game system changes the way children learn by combining activity and movement with best-in-class educational curriculum. You know when purchasing the video games that go along with this system that they have been designed with the intention to teach while they have fun! In fact, LeapTV was chosen as one of the Best Educational Toys for 2014 and featured on The Today Show here. With a simple and intuitive user interface, a motion-sensing camera that puts a child directly in the game, a transforming controller that is made for classic gameplay and pointer control gameplay, plus audio prompts throughout the experience to help children navigate games and provide curricular tutorials, LeapTV is the best first video game experience for children.
Three Unique Ways to Play:
The LeapTV video game puts learning in motion with three ways to play: body motion, pointer play and classic control.
Body Motion: Children become the star of their own game. The camera captures a child’s move and instantly puts them into the game. My daughter and friends really liked seeing themselves up on screen and inside the game! Of course they were being goofy and were practicing their karate chops and jumping up and down to see how they looked up on screen.
Pointer Play: Pointer play takes pretend play to new levels of engagement. The controller allows kids to snap jungle vines, slice through coconuts, and swing from building to building.
Classic Control: They can press the A and B buttons for fast-paced gaming or tilt and shake the controller to sled through an enchanted garden or race in a classic kart-racing game. One o the things I really like about the games they offer is they are perfect starter games for young children. They are well made, educational, and fun!
LeapTV Games
With a library of 9 cartridge games at launch and 100+ LeapFrog educator-approved games and videos available by year-end, kids never run out of fun! Games adapt to each child’s level-starting with the most basic skills and then automatically adjusting the learning for the perfect challenge. LeapFrog games draw from 2,600 skills across core subjects like reading, math, science, creativity, and blend LeapFrog’s comprehensive curriculum into age-appropriate gameplay and videos that keep children learning. As you can see in the picture above, the games are perfect for little ones and introduce them to the world of gaming with educational games you can feel good about letting them play as they are learning skills that will help them in school.
Their website is filled with downloads that can help make the gaming experience even more educational! We downloaded some Thanksgiving educational sheets while having some LeapFrog snacks and pizza!
Note: I received free products in order to host the LeapFrog sponsored MommyParty. The opinions expressed here are my own.
To share in the love this holiday season, dandelion moms is offering a LeapFrog $20 Gift Card that can be used to choose from LeapFrog’s extensive library up to $20 worth of digital downloads.
