Support World Lion Day on August 10th

I Dreamed of Africa:

One of my longtime dreams is to take a safari in Africa.  There is something so magical about seeing wild animals on the plains in Africa. Some of the animals I am most excited to experience (from a covered Jeep of course) are the magnificent lions.  This past week we have heard a lot of Cecil the Lion and it saddens me so that people would want to kill these gorgeous beasts.  They are meant to live out their lives protected and not hunted down by people getting their kicks off of having a stuffed lion on their den wall.

Support the National Geographic’s Big Cat Initiative:
Unfortunately, big cats in the wild are disappearing at an alarming rate. Starting end of July leading up to World Lion Day (August 10), National Geographic is promoting awareness about the plight of these majestic creatures by sharing high fives on social media. They are also raising money to preserve big cats—like lions—and their habitats through National Geographic’s Big Cats Initiative.

Join others like Arnold Schwarzenegger and Leonardo DiCaprio as they support the National Geographics #5forBigCats campaign!  In honor of our lovely dandelion moms community we donated $5 towards the campaign.  The funds will go to National Geographic’s Big Cats Initiative, which provides on-the-ground conservation and

education support to projects that preserve big cat populations worldwide. Examples include building livestock enclosures to save snow leopards in Nepal and combating lion snaring and poaching in Zambia.
