DIY: Scarecrow on a Stick
My son and I love to do these types of crafts. The arms and legs can move into fun poses and it’s on a stick so you can ‘plant’ them everywhere.
The scarecrow is a favorite for our fall decor. You can find him between apples and pumpkins or pretty fall leaves.
I have a pattern ready for you to download, print and color. You can add googly eyes, yarn for hair – be creative!
Basic Scarecrow:
You will need:
- 4 Brass Prong Paper File Fasteners
- card stock to print on
- scissors
- clear tape
- a stick
- markers, crayons, pencils
Print out the Scarecrow template. I like to color it first and then cut it out.
I love the Crayola Brand washable markers and recently bought a set of 50. I love them.
I use them for everything!
After I color in all the body parts I carefully cut them out.
Sometimes my son needs a little help with the ‘straw’ hands, feet and hair.
I use 4 fasteners for his arms and legs. Depending on the type of paper you used, you might want to poke a little hole with the tip of your scissors for the fastener to go through.
Be careful because you don’t want a big hole.
Clear tape helps to adhere the stick to his back.
