It’s No “Wonder” Why We #ChooseKind
We are so excited as a family to see “Wonder” coming to the big screen this November. My daughter read the book last year and fell in love with it and connected as well with it. She talked about “Wonder” from the time she started until she put it down – and it’s continued on. She even commented on several occasions that they should: “make it a movie”. And voila! Now it’s come to fruition. I’m writing this as a prod to go and see it when it comes out; although before that happens I highly recommend if you haven’t (or even if you have) to read the book [or…

LuLaRoe, Unicorns and Being a Consultant
How familiar are you with LuLaRoe (LLR)? I know for the past several months I’ve either heard it in conversation, seen it on my newsfeed (Facebook), or commented to a friend or stranger on their outfit to find out that it’s what they’re wearing. I had no idea that LLR had been around much longer than the seven months I’ve been aware of it. It’s a huge brand and it’s expanding and the women and their children that wear LLR have nothing but wonderful comments and statements to say about the clothing. I’m going to introduce you to one of the consultants, Cheryl Brewer of LuLaRoe Decadence with Cheryl, and introduce…

Spaghetti Pie Recipe
Ahhhh, pasta! I love all things with pasta and cheese. So does my daughter. My son eats nuggets. And tenders. A few other items but basically he’s going to cluck one day *lol* From lasagna (roll-up’s too) to manicotti and all the in-betweens. I make an awesome baked spaghetti too – there is a difference between spaghetti, baked spaghetti and spaghetti pie. Making any of those with my daughter takes me back to the summer’s I spent up north with my Gramps. He was a great cook and I spent hours upon hours with him in the kitchen. Now I get the same joy teaching my daughter these recipes –…

Yummy Cinnamon Rolls Recipe
Ooey, gooey, yummy cinnamon rolls! They’re a favorite here in our house. Several years ago, I started teaching my kids to make them and before that having them help me. They love being in the kitchen and these are really easy to make – as the girl loves surprising me with them! Sometimes we change things up (for the filling) or will do a half and half alternative if we’re running low on milk or sugar. We’ve even used packaged (boxed) bread mix, only if they call for water we will use milk or half water and half milk. Hey, you do what you have to do when you want cinnamon…

Louisiana Flooding: Helping their Schools, Teachers and Students
We found out recently that several schools in and around the Ascension Parish would be delayed in opening/starting due to the recent flooding in Louisiana. Watching the news and reading the papers you feel it and you see it – just not the way those that are living there do. With getting my own children ready for school I had not even thought of “the schools” and how they were affected. I had seen mostly the displacement of families and pets and too many people losing everything. Left with unimaginable horror at what those in the area were dealing with and going through. It was during this time that a…
