    Dandelion Moms Project Kindness :: August

    August 5, 2013 /

        Dandelion Moms Project Kindness: The idea to start the dandelion moms project kindness came about after watching some of Amy Krouse Rosenthal’s videos entitled the Beckoning of Lovely Project and seeing the great things that were being done during the Random Acts of Kindness week.  I wanted to create a community of women and men who wanted to send out some seeds of kindness into the world by doing some easy acts of kindness.  Each month we spotlight an organization or person who is helping to make the world a better place to see how we might be able to help out.     Project Night Night:   This month…

    Take a Trip Back in Time with The Medieval Times Show

    August 5, 2013 /

    Last week I was contacted by the crew over at The Medieval Times to see if I would like to check out the show in Buena Park.  I had not seen the show yet which is surprising since I have lived in Orange County most of my life (minus my college years and traveling).  My seven year old was so excited to see real knights on horses fighting and jousting.    A brand new show opened up this year and celebrates the California Castle’s 25th anniversary, The Medieval Times 30th anniversary, and its recent $2.5 renovation.  We arrived just as the show was about to begin, but I would recommend to come at least an half hour…

    Play :: Celebrate National Friendship Day

    August 3, 2013 /

        “Friendship is unnecessary, like philosophy, like art… It has no survival value; rather is one of those things that give value to survival. “ – C. S. Lewis     Friendships are so important to help you get through the rough times in life and enjoy the happy times.  I think back to the women I’ve met along the way and who have had an impact in my life and I am so thankful we crossed paths.  Some of these friends I am no longer in touch with but I still look back fondly on these friendships.  I was so happy to hear that there is a national…

    4 Weird Side Effects of Prescription Drugs

    August 2, 2013 /

      Medical treatment can be a difficult process and challenging which requires different areas of care. One particular complex area in medical healing is pharmaceuticals and prescription medications. Most if not all drugs come with some side effects, typically minor. However, you will run across those drugs that do indeed cause side effects and even more, weird ones. Below are 4 weird prescription drug side effects.   Blue Urine Urine color change is not unusual. For instance, when you consume beets, your urine could possibly turn pink in color and while taking vitamins, it can turn orange. However, have you ever experienced blue or green urine? 6 Mind-Blowing Health Benefits of Juicing

    August 2, 2013 /

        Forget store-bought juices. They’re usually pumped full of sugar, preservatives, and other chemicals that don’t do your body any good. What you need is a juicer, a machine that squeezes the juice out of fruits and vegetables. Juicers are religiously used by many health-conscious people across the globe, simply because juiced fruits and vegetables carry so many astounding health benefits.   Ingesting juiced fruits and vegetables helps remove toxins from your body.   Everyone knows that fruits and vegetables are great for your body, but strangely enough not a lot of people seem to realize that juiced fruits and vegetables are just as great. The body has its…

    Reflections :: Honoring Life’s Passings

    August 1, 2013 /

        In a few weeks it will be the anniversary of the death of my aunt Mary. I have written here about her before; she helped raise me in that my parents shared a house with her and her husband. Her daughter is the closest I will ever have to a sister.  The kind that I talk to almost every day, stay up late waiting for, eat unhealthy food with, and sing songs badly and too loud for no reason other than because the car windows are down. We both just went through chaotic, emotional weeks of great change. While processing on the phone, we only barely touched at…
