Important Life Skills Kids (and Parents!) Learn While Traveling – Part 1
The initial motivations for my family’s around-the-world journey were that it would be an amazing chance to spend time together as a family and a great education for our kids. Yet, I could have never predicted all the invaluable life skills they would be learning along the way! Traveling has been, and continues to be, the best way to teach our children about life and about themselves – with new opportunities to learn everyday. National Poetry Month: Online Poetry Resources
Celebrate National Poetry Month! April is National Poetry Month and most classrooms will spend some time exploring poetic expression in one form or another. Children enjoy the rhymes and humor from poets like Dr. Seuss and Shel Silverstein, but don’t be afraid to branch out to poets like Robert Frost or Louisa May Alcott. There are so many beautiful words to share and poetry makes great bedtime material. April 30th is Poem In Your Pocket Day. Help your child write their favorite poem on a piece of paper and let them carry it with them that day. Encourage them to share their poem with their friends, family,…

RFP Testing Provides a Safer Sporting Environment for Athletes
“The King-Devick Test is beneficial to me because it’s a sideline objective test. It’s easy to use and allows me to have another sound backing in my assessments of a head injury. Since I have been involved with the K-D Test, I have had nothing but positive outcomes. The athletes seemed to have taken well to it, and it’s not overwhelming to implement within an already established head injury protocol. All-in-all the King-Devick Test has proven its worth by its ease of use, validity, and time-efficient objectivity.” ~ Rickey Perales, ATC, Head Athletic Trainer at St. Laurence High School As a parent I had my reservations about my daughter playing…

Race Car Driver Greg Tracy Pushes Life to the Limit!
It is always fun to see what friends from high school end up doing with their lives! Some have gone on to do things that are pretty extraordinary and my friend Greg Tracy is one of them! It isn’t everyday that someone breaks a World Record or wins one of the most difficult car races in the world. He has won the Pike’s Peak race 7 times which once you see the actual race track you’ll be pretty amazed. I had a hard time watching one of his YouTube clips showing his view while racing around the cliffs. And he and another driver raced the “Hot Wheels Double Loop Dare” that took…
