    Keeping it Simple

    February 20, 2014 /

The other day my daughter and I were at the grocery store and she wanted me to buy her this shiny red ball.  I figured if a $1.00 ball could make her day – why not?!  There is something about a shiny red ball that brings back memories of childhood. As we were walking back to our car, I captured her playing with it and she had the biggest smile on her face.  It made me think about how children have such a gift of staying and being in the moment.  Here she was playing with this red ball like it was the best present she has ever…

Loving Your Face: A Simple Skin Care Routine for Everybody

    February 19, 2014 /

For those without many skin care problems, worrying about following a proper skin care routine may seem like an unnecessary amount of extra work. For those of us with problematic skin, however, not following a regimented routine can lead to painful and unattractive unpleasantness on our faces in the form of acne or other forms of irritation.   Even for those without specific skin care issues, taking care of your skin should become more of a priority as you age and your skin inevitably begins to stand up against the many elements with less vigor. Luckily, there are several different ways to care for your skin, slowing the aging process…

Play :: St.Patrick’s Day Gifts and Crafts

    February 16, 2014 /

St.Patrick’s Day is one of our favorite holidays around our house.  Never mind that most of us are predominately Irish (with a little Scottish, German, Hungarian and English mixed in).  Regardless if you have any Irish blood in yer genes – this is a really fun holiday to celebrate!  Here are some fun crafts and gifts you can hand to friends, teachers and family on St. Patrick’s Day.     Fingerprint Art: I just love using my daughter’s fingerprints to create art.  And this gift tag is just too cute and really easy to make!  To read how to make your own leprechaun go to Spoonful.  They have some really fun…

    Tips for Delicious Gluten-Free Treats

    February 16, 2014 /

As a society, we love our gluten. If a product is labelled ‘gluten-free’, it’s generally an indication that we should leave it on the shelf and go for the option with actual taste. What most people don’t realise, however, is the world of healthy and tasty options presented by gluten-free foods.     Over the years, coeliacs and people with other food intolerances have experimented with all sorts of ingredients that you wouldn’t believe. The result is an entire culinary range that can please even the most finicky of palates, to the point where you often can’t even tell the difference! Looking Out for Gluten Gluten can be found…

Latest & Greatest :: PBS Kids Releases Dinosaur Train A to Z

    February 14, 2014 /

By now you probably know what a big fan I am of the PBS Kids show Dinosaur Train – seriously how smart is that to combine trains and dinosaurs!  My daughter has watched this show since it was released a few years back.  I love learning about dinosaurs right along with her as it has been while since I studied about dinosaurs in school.  My favorite was always the Stegosaurus  because he was a plant eater and had those cool spikes on his back.  PBS Kids recently released Dinosaur Train A to Z is the ultimate dinosaur app from the hit PBS KIDS show Dinosaur Train. The app…
