PBS Kids Cat in the Hat Christmas Special Airs November 21st
We are big fans of Dr. Seuss in this household so when I heard that PBS Kids is going to premiere the first-ever Cat in the Hat Christmas special this coming November 21st I immediately imagined sitting on the sofa, with the fire going, and snuggling with my six year old to watch this new show. The Cat in the Hat Knows a lot about Christmas follows the Cat, Nick and Sally on a journey around the world to help a lost reindeer find his way home in time for Christmas which is called Freezeyourknees Snowland (love Dr. Seuss’s imagination). On the way, the Thinga-ma-jigger breaks down, and they depend on a variety…

Inspirational Mom: Maria Bailey of Mom Talk Radio
Maria Bailey created Mom Talk Radio, BlueSuitMom.com and many more programs that are aimed at and support moms. I came across her website last year and was impressed with the number of books she has written about this influential group that for many years went unappreciated by companies. Maria said it took companies to hear a hard fact for them to take notice of this powerful group: women influence $2.1 Trillion Dollars in annual spending! With the ability for women to have a voice via blogging, vlogging and You Tube, many companies are paying much more attention to moms these days and marketing directly to and through this segment. …

Family Relationships: Handle with Grace and Compassion
Three years ago I moved back home to live with my mom. This is may be out of the ordinary for a person in her thirties, maybe not. Money Matters: Business or Hobby?
Is My Hobby Really A Business? “Generally, an activity qualifies as a business if it is carried on with the reasonable expectation of earning a profit.” (IRS Pub FS-2007-18, April 2007) You have been crocheting blankets for years. It is a relaxing activity that you really enjoy. People have offered to pay you to make one for them. You think, “Why not?” Do you intend to start making blankets (or other items) for a profit? Or, do you just want to have your friends reimburse you for the cost of the materials? If you don’t intend to make a profit from your sales then you are engaging in…

A Beautiful Fall In Santa Monica
Santa Monica is a wonderful place to visit any time of year, but Fall is especially nice with beautiful, warm days and lots of fun activities. While it can get a little nippy at night with the ocean breeze, a sweatshirt or light sweater will usually be enough. Santa Monica hosts many fun activities through the months of October through November. If you missed the Halloween fun, be sure to check out the Thanksgiving and Christmas activities. Every year, Downtown Santa Monica creates a little piece of heaven known as ‘ICE at Santa Monica‘ right on the corner of 5th Street and Arizona Avenue. This incredible outdoor skating rink gives tourists…
