Artist Flora Bowley
The creative process is such a personal journey I love to hear about artists who do what they do so well and love their “job”. I came across Flora Bowley a few years ago and have admired her ability to draw you in to her paintings, which I find so calming. Read what Flora has to say about her journey as an artist and the new project she is working on. What was your inspiration for wanting to be an artist and create? I think I may have been born to be an artist. My happiest childhood memories included things like sculpting clay that I found near our house, braiding jewelry…

We are so excited to be with all these wonderful developers who are helping to sponsor this iPad Mini to help spread some holiday cheer! Add Sparkle To Your Home When You Shine Your Sink!
My sister introduced me to The Fly Lady a long time ago, and I wanted to share a few things that I have learned from this fun and incredibly helpful website. The Fly Lady site is loaded with many tricks, tips and ideas that can help make your life easier. One thing that has helped me in my house is to shine my sink every night. It might sound like a little thing, and to be honest, when I first read about it I thought it was nuts. But I decided to give it a try and I have to say that waking up to a shiny sink has indeed been wonderful. My kitchen might…

The Importance of a Healthy Immune System
(Photograph of a virus vs. the immune system). The fall season is one of my favorite times of year but it can also be quite stressful – between running around trying to get it all done in time and eating on the run – can cause havoc on your health. Last month, I had an episode with my own health and ended up being hospitalized for four days with some funky virus. Granted, as the doctor explained, viruses are around us all the time – and some are affected by them and others are not. But I do understand that if my immune system wasn’t compromised, then it wouldn’t have affected…

Banana Pumpkin Spelt Bread
Banana Pumpkin Spelt Bread I frequently make banana bread for my family because I feel better giving this as a snack to my children rather than a packaged granola bar or other processed food. The problem is our household of five consumes so many bananas that few ever make it to that over-ripe stage necessary for great banana bread. I have since learned to buy extra bananas at the store. I then hide three of them from my little monkeys and their monkey daddy so they may achieve their spotty brown stage for this scrumptious quick bread. Many banana and pumpkin breads call for large amounts of oil…

Autumn Pasta Bake
Dinnertime in my house has become more challenging now that the kids are older and have so many things happening after school. We are never quite sure what time they will be home for dinner, so a dish like this that can be prepared in advance and ready to go in 15-20 minutes is perfect. Should you have any leftovers, they are even better the next day!!! Ingredients: 1 pound ground turkey 1 medium onion – diced 2 Tbsp minced garlic 1 pound asparagus – cut into 1″ pieces 1 28 oz can tomato sauce 1/4 cup fresh sage – chopped 1 lb brown rice penne pasta – cooked…
