Summer Fun :: Nature Day Camp 101
Summer is here and finding things to do with the kids can be trying sometimes. That is why we are creating a Summer Fun Series where we make suggestions for activities to do with the kids that won’t cost an arm and a leg! Last week we hosted a Nature Day Camp for my daughter and some of her pals. It was a fun day and one that didn’t take a ton of planning and/or money! Stuck On You was kind enough to sponsor this fun day and provided the cool messenger bag, postcards and other goodies for the kids. These bags were perfect on our walks through the park and they used them to store…

Create Lasting Memories with the GoPro HERO + LCD
The reviewer has been compensated in the form of a Best Buy Gift Card and/or received the product/service at a reduced price or for free. One of my absolute favorite gifts we have received was the GoPro HERO camera from my in-laws a few years back for the holidays. I am not kidding when I say it is one of the best gifts we have received as I love to capture our family’s adventures on film and video. We brought it down to the pool and we have some great videos of my daughter doing flips off the side of the pool (with bated breath from good ‘ol mom) and pretending she is a mermaid underwater. …

The Perfect Gift for Father’s Day!
Last week my daughter’s teacher gave this adorable succulent gift to the volunteer’s that helped out this year. She had all the children sign the glass vase with their names. I thought this would make the perfect Father’s Day, Mother’s Day, Grandparent’s Day and yes, Teacher Appreciation Day gift! For Father’s Day – you can have your kids write Happy Father’s Day and then have them sign it. Or whatever strikes your fancy! A favorite quote perhaps? This gift really touched my heart and I know that I will treasure it always! Right now it is sitting next to my computer. She said she used succulent’s from her mother’s garden and made about 20 of them. Personalized gifts…

Summer is about sleeping in (we should tell our kids it is a summer rule: sleeping in), lazy days by the pool or beach, popsicles and lots of sunscreen. Here are some fun ideas to help spend your summer days making some nature crafts. Enjoy! Dipped in Gold: Aren’t these just gorgeous? I think you could use just about any type of kid-friendly paints. These would look pretty on display in a wooden bowl! Found on: Blabla Kids It’s a Hoot: My new favorite site Fireflies and Mud Pies is so cute – she has a ton of great ideas like this fun owl! Make a wish little firefly: And…

The Samsung SUHD TV Offers an Impressive Viewing Experience
We have been compensated in the form of a Best Buy Gift Card and/or received the product/service at a reduced price or for free. Last weekend I had a chance to check out the new Samsung SUHD TV at our local Best Buy and what an experience! Now through 6/13, you can see an exclusive sneak peek of Jurassic World in Samsung Entertainment Experience Shops inside Best Buy. I loved seeing Chris Pratt up on the Samsung TV and I can’t wait to see that on the big screen this month! It is so cool how the Samsung SUHD provides us with a whole viewing experience – from 4 HDMI inputs…

Bonding Over Old-School Classics
Image found on awn My younger brother and I couldn’t wait for Saturday cartoons and our morning would usually start around 6:30 am, him in his Superhero Underoo’s (remember those?), our cereal bowls filled with Fruity Pebbles or Lucky Charms (our favorites) and we would watch cartoons until about noon. It is great sharing these old school cartoons and movies with my daughter. I think part of the appeal for parents to share toys, TV shows and movies they grew up with is to show our kids that we were kids once too! And I think it lets us go down memory lane to a time of childhood wonder. There’s something pretty awesome…
