Nominate Your School Nurse in Pfizer Pediatrics America’s Greatest School Nurse Contest

    January 26, 2017 /

From the moment the bell rings in the morning, to the zip of the last backpack at the end of the day, school nurses are there to handle every bump, fever, sore throat, and stomach ache. When you can’t be around during the school day, they are the caregivers that look after your children. Pfizer Pediatrics wants to honor America’s Greatest School Nurse and I am happy to help spread the word to nominate our school nurse who go above and beyond for students every day. I trust them with my daughter’s well-being while they are away from the comforts of home.     Information about the America’s Greatest School…

Part One :: SKIN CARE BASICS FOR AN AGELESS LOOK!

    December 21, 2016 /

SKIN CARE BASICS FOR AN AGELESS LOOK!   This summer I started thinking about really uping my skin care game.  I was a lifeguard for over three years in high school and into college and let’s just say I wasn’t too interested in using sun protection over 10.  Remember Ban de Soleil?  Yep, that was my preferred sunscreen.  Fast forward a few years and I wised up and haven’t really been in the sun for most of my adult life.  Of course, we hit the beach and pool but I always cover up and wear a hat.  Skin cancer scares me quite a bit and that is one of…

Delicious Spinach and Beef Lasagna Recipe

    November 14, 2016 /

Years ago I had a friend tell me she’d make homemade lasagna all the time using the no boiling lasagna noodles and that it tasted great! Inspired,  I ventured to try to make this rather intimidating dish.  It was intimidating to me since it seemed so difficult to make but using the no boiling noodles makes all the difference in the world!  Since then, we make this dish every once in a while and last night we whipped it up within 20 minutes!  It is really tasty with the spinach and fresh herbs and you’ll probably have leftovers for lunch the next day. Here’s our favorite recipe! You’ll…

Start Walking and Reclaim Your Mind and Body

    July 17, 2016 /

“Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance, you must keep moving.”                         ~ Albert Einstein A few months ago I decided to take time out for myself and get back in shape. I was SO over carrying this extra weight I gained from my neck injury and taking steroids (it is a real thing people) and I wanted to find a form of exercise that would fit into my busy lifestyle.  Heck, we are all too busy these days, but finding time to take care of our body is so very important. I think many times…

June is National Fruit and Vegetables Month

    June 24, 2016 /

Did you know that June is National Fruit & Vegetables Month? I didn’t until recently, and I think June is the perfect time to celebrate fruits and vegetables. Summer yields a delicious variety of fresh produce. Here are some of the fruits and vegetables that are in season now: Fruit: Peaches, Plums, nectarines, cherries, blackberries, strawberries, tomatoes, passion fruit, melon, and apricots. Vegetables: Radishes, beets, cucumbers, carrots, bell peppers, zucchini, corn, garlic, and rhubarb. What a wonderful assortment of fruits and veggies! And with school out, now is the perfect time to get in the kitchen with your kids and cook up some fresh recipes with some of these…
