Netflix Titles, Crafts and Recipes to Promote Kindness and Acceptance

A Little Kindness Never Gets Old.  That is the catch-phrase of the Netflix original series, Derek, staring Ricky Gervais, an English nursing home caretaker who only sees the good in people.  Wouldn’t life be easier if we all had this sunny disposition and saw only the good?!  This month as we are preparing our children for returning to school, Netflix took a cue from Derek and compiled a list of titles that help teach our kids about kindness and acceptance.  Derek’s mantra of acceptance, no matter age or ability inspired their list of titles that provide a great resource for parents to remind their kids about seeing the good in others.  Teaching the value of kindness and acceptance are just as important as academic learning!

Spreading seeds of kindness is the essence of our dandelion moms Project Kindness so you all know how much we care about this here at dandelion moms!  I love that Netflix put together some titles to share with your teenager or youngsters to open the conversation about treating others the way we would want to be treated!

For your little ones:

We love all of these recommendations – especially Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood, Super Why and Arthur.  PBS Kids does an outstanding job of providing quality children’s programming.  My daughter still loves watching My Little Pony, though she says she is watching with her dad because he likes it so much.  Granted, he could name all the characters and what their powers are – so I guess he is into it!  What titles are you planning on watching with your little ones?

1. Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood, Vol. 1 Ep. 6: Friends Help Each Other
2. My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, Season 3, Ep. 4: One Bad Apple
3. Arthur, Season 15, Ep. 8: Muffy’s Classic Classy Club / Best Enemies
4. The Hunchback of Notre Dame
5. Super Why, Season 1, Ep. 61: The Ugly Duckling: Becoming a Swan
6. The Fox and the Hound

Uhmmm, “monkey bread” I love “monkey bread” … it was one of the first items (aside from cookies and brownies) that I was making at a very young age by myself. Now I want some *drool.yummy*

Love the “punch box” polka-dot idea, btw! Very clever!
