Interview with Linda Cardellini

We had a chance to meet Linda Cardellini after screening Daddy’s Home 2 and I have to say we all fell in love with her!  She was very down-to-earth and spoke about how much fun it was to work with this great cast of characters.  From Will Ferrell to Mel Gibson, she said everyone was really wonderful to work alongside and they all had a blast together.

“It really was a magical shoot, we had so much fun together.”

She commented how she had never been to Boston before and couldn’t believe that it was her first time there.  Of course, Mark Walhberg being from Boston showed everyone around town.

The interview then turned to the fact that Daddy’s Home 2 is one of handful of films that focuses on co-parenting from the Dad’s perspective. Linda spoke about how as parents we think everything is okay with the kids, but it’s really not.  There is a scene in the movie that really hits home with the parents who think they are doing a fine job at co-parenting.  But as anyone knows who co-parents, things can get complicated pretty quickly.

Linda said the “Together Christmas” (both sides of the family decide to spend the holidays together in a cabin) idea is a good one, in theory it is a good idea, to put everyone together.

She touched on motherhood and how that has changed her.  She is a working mom so trying to find a balance work and home life has it challenges.  She talked about how difficult it was this past Halloween because she was on set and couldn’t go trick-or-treating with her daughter.  Her daughter was happy as a clam, she had dad there, plus the grandparents, but the mom guilt really hit Linda hard she said.  I think we all experience that from time to time!  We want to do it all for our kids but sometimes that just doesn’t work out.

We had a great time speaking with Linda and hope that you grab your family and head to see Daddy’s Home 2 this weekend! It is super funny and I love this great cast!
