Crafts :: For Teacher Appreciation Week

    May 2, 2013 /

Celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week: Since 1984, the National PTA has designated time each May for communities nationwide to honor teachers for their work with children. Parents, students, and schools across America celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week to show appreciation for the work and dedication of teachers and reaffirm the commitment to parent-teacher partnerships.   Mrs. Clinger was my sixth grade teacher and I still think about her after all these years.  She was just an amazing and caring teacher and really gave 110% to the kids!  So in support of all the great teachers – we found some really crafts you can give to your kids teachers in honor of Teacher Appreciation Week…

Health: You May be Magnesium Deficient.

    May 2, 2013 /

Ask the Doctor: Question: I have a hard time sleeping & have some mild anxiety. I heard magnesium might help… is that true? Magnesium is the fourth abundant mineral in the body –  half found in the bones and the other half inside body tissues and organs – and is needed for over 300 biochemical reactions. Some of these reactions include: enzymes activation, normal heart and nerve function, keeping the heart pumping strong and steady, regulate calcium levels, plus other important nutrients in the body like copper, zinc, potassium, vitamin D. Those are some of the big jobs; however, magnesium plays some other key roles in immune function, diabetes, and blood…

Dandelion Moms Project Kindness :: May

    May 1, 2013 /

What IS dandelion moms project kindness? We created dandelion moms project kindness so as to inspire others to help spread loveliness and kindness out into the world.  Much like dandelion seeds that blow miles away – a simple act of kindness can have a big impact and create a domino effect.  Each month we make a few suggestions and we ask that you share in your acts of kindness.  Some months you might be able to participate and some months you aren’t able to.  We just ask that  you do what you can!  Thank you dandelion moms for helping spread acts of kindness in your families, community and beyond. Dandelion…

5 Tips to Successful Yard Sale Shopping

    May 1, 2013 /

5 Tips to Successful Yard Sale Shopping We all love a good bargain.  And one can often be found at yard sales (or garage sales).  But how can we make the most of our yard sale shopping trips?  Here are a few tips that may help: 1.      Make a list – What types of items are you looking for?  You can tailor your shopping trip by looking for yard sales that advertise what is on your list.  Keep in mind sizes for kids’ clothes, ages for toys.  Household items can often be found in good condition too.  List everything on a small card that you can carry in your…

In the Spotlight with Life is Rosey Jewelry

    May 1, 2013 /

As some of you might know, this past month I attended the Tory Johnson Spark & Hustle Los Angeles event which provided pep talks from other women business owners, as well as information and resources for women so they can realize their dream of starting a business.  The seminar also provided tools to help existing businesses take the next step.  I couldn’t believe the number of driven women who attended the seminar and it felt great to be around these women who were going after their dreams!  I met Sarah Jane Nelson on one of our breaks and she told me she makes custom jewelry.  She showed me some of her jewelry and I fell…
