Mississippi Style Deep Fried Oysters from Weave a Thousand Flavors

Head over to Weave a Thousand Flavors and find a great recipe from Devaki. Her Mississippi Style Deep Fried Oysters with Zingy Remoulade Sauce looks delicious! Her Zingy Remoulade Sauce recipe looks divine and I can’t wait to make this and try it with other yummy foods too! [pictured above]

Southern Living has several variations of “southern” oysters. Some I have never heard of (it’s true and yes, I’m “southern” lol) and all look wonderful – if you enjoy oysters, that is. It is an acquired taste … maybe? Okay yes. From Grilled Oysters, Easy Lowcountry Oyster Roast, Oyster Bacon Pot Pie (bacon! my daughter’s in!! come on cooler weather and pot pies … ahhh, yasss!), Classic Oyster Stew, Green Apple Mignonette, Smoked-Oyster-Andouille Dressing [pictured at top – I’m ready for cooler weather and the holidays], and Broiled Oysters on the Half Shell.

Baked Oysters with Wild Mushroom Ragout via Food Network/chef John Besh

New Orleans chef John Besh shares with Food Network his recipe for Baked Oysters with Wild Mushroom Ragout. If I ever have the opportunity to visit New Orleans I know that I will gain a gazillion pounds <cross.my.heart> I mean that seriously. The pictures of their food and the recipes I have tried/made – I think I should live there *sigh* Have you ever just wanted to visit a city to … just eat? That’s all I think of when I hear New Orleans. Well, that and vampires {ha ~ thanks Anne Rice}.

Scrambled Eggs with Oysters via Saveur

Saveur offers up a recipe from Cheng Lee Chin-o (housewife and entrepreneur) of Scrambled Eggs with Oysters. This is a Taiwanese (Tainan snack) classic that pairs oysters with celery, bean sprouts, and ketchup. I’m pretty much up for anything that has eggs in it. I’m like the “Gump” of eggs: scrambled, hard-boiled, over-easy, sunny side up, fried, poached – just eggs. Now I want eggs. Oh and oysters!

Have a great #NationalOysterDay and let us know how you like to eat (and even make) your oysters!
